Sandy Springs Development Authority Locks In $2.5M Tax Break for North River Redevelopment

The Sandy Springs Development Authority adopted a bond resolution on Aug. 26 enacting the 10-year, $2.54 million property tax abatement City Council approved Aug. 18 for Woodfield Development's North River Apartments redevelopment.

The Sandy Springs Development Authority adopted a bond resolution on Aug. 26 enacting the 10-year, $2.54 million property tax abatement City Council approved Aug. 18 for Woodfield Development's North River Apartments redevelopment.

Why it matters

The vote clears the last hurdle for a $150M-plus overhaul: 336 apartments, 85 townhomes, retail and a new public park replacing an aging strip mall.

What to watch

Construction is expected to begin later this year once Woodfield closes on the roughly 8 of 13 acres it has under contract at 8830 Roswell Road.
