Atlanta Technical College breaks ground on a $30M expansion named for Hank Aaron

The largest single state appropriation in the college's 60-year history will add an AI and advanced manufacturing center and a soundstage honoring Billye Suber Aaron.

Atlanta Technical College broke ground Aug. 11 on a nearly $30 million renovation and expansion of the Henry Louis "Hank" Aaron Academic Complex, the largest single state funding investment in the college's 60-year history. The project adds a Center for Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Manufacturing, a Center for Film and Media Production, and an expanded student services center.

A rendering unveiled at the groundbreaking shows the new Billye Suber Aaron soundstage, named for Hank Aaron's widow and her own career in media and philanthropy.

BeltLine Starts Northwest Trail Segment 3B

Construction has started on Atlanta BeltLine Northwest Trail Segment 3B, a nearly one-mile link from Trabert Avenue to Tanyard Creek Park. The route will bridge Northside Drive, pass through Atlanta Technology Center and under I-75, connecting five northwest Atlanta neighborhoods to the completed Segment 3A and Northside Trail. Atlanta BeltLine lists late fall 2028 as the expected opening.
